This was my post
based on
www.develop-online.net/news/40387/Runescape-begins-first-microtransaction-experiment being a reliable source.
"Rob Smith, an executive at Jagex, last week said
that a gentle introduction of virtual item sales over time “could
possibly be introduced, providing our audience is happy with it”."
With
the last part, "possibly be introduced, providing our audience is happy
with it" mean, That if the player base is against the SoF RWT'ing,
Jagex or should i say, Insight Venture Partners will discontinue
pursuing the sale of Virtual items?
From the Reaction on
Recent updates, Here on the CL Forums, And many other places, It's a
clear indication that the Vast Majority of players are against the idea
of buying Virtual Items for real world money, That the entire plan of
real world sales for virtual items will now be scrapped?
Runescape
is a game that in all honesty, Isn't the best out there, It isn't the
most advanced, And it has it's fair share of problems, But the fact they
Used to care about the player base, valued our feedback and
achievements and allowed us to game how we saw fit (within the rules)
was a massive attraction, I wasn't forced to buy membership, I was a
player, Not a £ sign. Until now.
The quote from MMG about real
life status shouldn't have an impact in game, Well it's no longer valid.
If you're able to spend stupid amounts of money on runescape spins and
soon Items, and you choose too, Then you're given a select group a
massive advantage.
